Subject: Re: Hello Out There! |
Hi Pamela,
We stayed in Rome at the Pensione Erdarelli at Via Due Machelli #28 in 1972 and our daughter and son-in-law stayed there just 4 years ago. The recent visit was in the $100 a night range for a room, private bath, and breakfast. Daughter said it was one of the few places that served breakfast on their meager budget. This has 2 stars in this book and as I remember it, it is no palace. According to my copy of Cheap Sleeps in Italy, 1993, the prices ranged from 125,000-145,000L for rooms with private bath and without private bath. There is a sister accomodation called Pensione Pierina at # 47. The Erdarelli is close to the Spanish Steps and, as I remember, also close to the bus. English spoken.
