Hi Pamela,
are you going to travel by train? Anyway, the best way to get to San Gimignano from Florence is arrive in Poggibonsi and wait for the bus to S. G. Tenuta di Torciano is situated in a beautiful place, and is known for Chianti wine, Vernaccia, and olive oil. Now I'm going to write down for you what I read in a local guide of Agriturismo: the estate is made up of a farmhouse which has been divided up into apartments which have been completely restored, all very spacious, very bright, and tastefully furnished. In the middle of the estate you will find the aia (threshing-floor)- sun terrace, and surrounded by a spacious garden with private parking annex. On the Torciano estate you can taste and purchase our wine (Vernaccia, Chianti and Chianti Classico)) and our olive oil. The wine cellars where we store our wine for ageing and our wine exhibition centre are available to the guests. On the estate you can fish in the river Elsa and there is archery, walks, trekking on bikes, on horseback, on foot along signed pathways. e-mail: torciano |
