Subject: Re: Eating in Europe

Food costs in Europe take up much of the budget. We have found that sandwiches from the bakery, and/or bread, meat, and cheese and drinks from the grocery stores make our trips a lot more fun. We picnic for at least one meal a day and maybe 2, depending on whether breakfst is included with the night's stay. We travel with 2 cups and 2 spoons (for 2 of us), a few paper napkins and a plastic bag or two and there is little you cannot eat with a cup and a spoon--from strawberries to prepared salads, and drinks, of course. anytime you can avoid sitting down to eat you will save a lot of money. Hope this helps. Gretchen
