I read somewhere about a secret entrance to the Louvre -- something
about a door with an awning or something on the side where you can get in
quickly. Did I dream this, or has anyone heard about this?
I only know of two entrances -- the one at street level in the courtyard that is in the middle of the big U that the wings of the Louvre make, and the one underground that goes in from the metro station. The latter is usually less crowded. After getting into the museum, if you have the Museum Pass then you can just go into whatever wing of the museum you wish, rather than having to wait in the sometimes l-o-n-g ticket line. I encourage you to consider the 90 minute English-language orientation tour that is given several times daily -- for me, it really helped me enjoy the Louvre.
