I'm partial to Calistoga. Much more scenic with the encroaching forest-covered hills and peaks at the northern end of the valley. Last time there we stayed at the Wine Way Inn, Moye &Cecile Stephens innkeepers; 1-800-572-0679. Just a couple of blocks from the center of Calistoga.
Visit Chateau Montelena on Tubbs Lane just north of Calistoga. Beautiful gardens.
Also, check out Schramsberg's Champagne(Sparkling Wine) with its cellars in a system of caves. A very worthwhile tour.
In southern Napa, Carneros, visit the Carneros Alambic Distillery the first alambic brandy distillery in the US. TA tour of the barrel house with 4,000 barrels of aging brandy releasing their aromatic vapors, what the distillers refer to as the angel's share is well worth the visit.
In St. Helena search out the Napa Valley Olive Oil Company. Handcrafted olive oils and other olive products locally made that make you think you're in Italy.
