Subject: Re: Amsterdam Hotel |
Sally, Our first choice was the Hotel Di-Ann, from the Tourist office. All
have been chosen for location first and price second. There is a limit as
to what we want to pay to mainly sleep and eat breakfast for one day. Even
eating breakfast is not a must as we travel with water heater, coffee, and
breakfast bars to offset all emergencies. However, we like to experience
breakfasts in many different cities. On the first trip we made to
Amsterdam for 3 days, a few years ago (before going to Tanzania) we stayed
near Vondel Park and we made only one trip to the main city, wore ourselves
out walking, and had to take a taxi back. This time we want a quiet hotel,
near the main sights, and not in the red light district. I have been
researching areas via the Insight book on Amsterdam, the book from the
Tourist Office, and the distance from the boat docks, as well as
recommendations.
My TA's system (Amadeus) has been down for 2 working days us) due to some internal changes and she is about to be frantic. thanks for all your help. Gretchen from South Carolina |
