Hi! I just saw you posting about the weather in the French Alps. We were in
Chamonix and took the cable cars up to top of Mt Blanc. It was the end of
Sept. or the beginning of Oct. as that is when we travel. It was very cold
at the top of Mt. Blanc either a heavy sweater or a lighter sweater with a
jacket is advisable. We spoke with a couple who had climbed and slept out
overnight and they said that it was getting very cold up there. It was snowy
and the wind was blowing. Chamonix itself was cool at night and you did need
to wear something other than a shirt. Living in Atlanta Georgia, we
naturally did not have the heaviest of clothing with us, just about what we
wear in the winter. When we moved from New England we gave it all away and
this was about the heaviest we have. Enjoy alan
