Subject: Re: Travel Books
Hi, I have not read those books, but if you like humorous travelogues, have you read Bill Bryson? I especially liked NOtes From a Small Island and everyone seems to be reading A Walk in the Woods. By the way, I met Bryson at last year's BooK Passage Travel Writer's Conference in SF and he was a really nice guy. The author of Pass the Butterworms was also there, and he was a funny speaker, but I haven't read him, and can't remember his name. ANybody? I really enjoyed Francis Mayes' books, and I think she is a good writer, but not much of a sense of humor and a bit of a snob... Happy reading, Debbie in Pgh
