Anything by Redmond O'Hanlon. This maniac travels to the most remote harsh
environments looking for mythical or rare creatures. His background is
ornithology so he does write quite a bit about the fauna of his
destinations. He has traveled to Indonesia (Borneo or Irian Jaya?) in search
of the Hairy Rhinoceros, the Orinoco Basin, and up the Congo looking for the
Mbele-Mkeke? (wild guess), a Loch Ness-type creature. His books are amusing,
enlightening, and save one the trouble of traveling to these extremely
inhospitable locales.
