I have to concur with Don. Our experience with traveling in former Communist
countries has been a complete positive. In the fall of 1997 we visited
Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic and found each country
intriguing and beautiful and the people friendly and helpful. This includes
border guards who were checking passports. Even the Croatian officials were
kind and considerate and they were in a state of declared war with Serbia.
The Slovakian guards who monitored our hydrofoil's passage through the
Slovakian-operated locks on the Danube were no trouble for anybody on the boat.
Now, back in 1973, I recall a Texas Ranger who didn't like the length of my hair nor the small British sports car I was driving.... ;-} John Rule San Diego, CA Yucatan 2000 |
