|Subject: Packing light|
I have to assume that most everyone on this list packs light for their
trips, and my husband and I have learned over the years to pack lighter and
lighter. On our last trip to Italy, however, Bill outdid himself and
developed a whole new packing technique. I just had to share it.
He saves up clothes that on the verge of going to the garbage, or takes things he really doesn't like very much. Then he simply leaves them behind and comes home with much less than he started with. This last trip, he left behind a pair of pants (worn spots on the back pocket from his wallet), a pair of shoes (had been resoled twice) and two shirts (didn't like the way they felt). Given that we were only gone for ten days, this represented most of what he took, and his suitcase was almost empty on the return flight.
