|Subject: Champagne on high|
As some of you may know I run a photographic tour once a year over the Indian Himalaya.
A literal highpoint of the tour is when I take my clients up the Khardung La. This is the highest road in the world (5600 metres, 18,000 something feet) and to celebrate this I took along a bottle of champagne last year. I had brought it to India from Australia so it had already been at altitude.
I suspected that it all might gush out but no, just as normal. However a couple of glasses of the bubbly at that height made us all delightfully squiffy.
If anybody's interested in sharing a bottle of bubbly next year send me a private email.
