Left Bank has the most charm and my preference. However another two star
hotel with the Libertel chain is a wonderful value: roughly Quality
Inn/Comfort Inn level with Parisian flair. Beds were comfortable. Rooms
with TV were small but tasteful. Everything worked including the hair
dryer. Attractive sitting area near VERY HELPFUL staff at entrance. Good
value breakfast.
We stayed in Libertel Amirel Duperre (sp?) a two star near Pigalle (neighborhood: doctors offices in day and adult clubs at night, down the street from Moulin a Rouge, not the best location but walking distance from Montmartre and Sacre Coeur and source of a bargain, very skillful Parisian haircut). Close to a metro which took us anywhere we wanted quickly. The Libertel chain has higher rated hotels and the staff must rotate through them because we got concierge quality assistance for our every question from the son's school project on Parisian hotel's electricity usage to the mom and daughter's request for a hair salon. It was less than $100/night for a double (last March/April) and must be like the Ibis others have suggested. Have a wonderful trip. Paris is the best. Betsy |
