For those of you visiting Vancouver.....
We had a wonderful time at the Archaeological Museum at the University of BC. It is an awesome structure, filled with incredible artifacts. The drive out there is gorgeous, (we stopped at a couple of beach spots along the way) and quick. If you go, and if they are selling salmon sandwiches on fry bread, do have one. Delicious. I believe we also visited gardens while at the University...
Oh, oh oh....I almost forgot: The market at Granville Island! This must be the greatest food market in North America. I have never seen anything like it. Skip the surrounding tourist driven shops and cover this market. I couldn't use enough superlatives. If you are a foodie in anyway, see this market. And eat while you are there. We brought home a smoked salmon sampler that was utterly delicious. And I have never seen berries like the ones for sale there. We took a taxi boat over and back and it was good fun.
I thought Gastown was just too touristy. Cute, but.... The Capilano area was great. We visited the dam, which was special and didn't seem to be attracting that many people. Also road the lift to the top of the mountain. Great views.
