I would also suggest Starnberg am See; which is accessible by S-Bahn from
Munich> I lived in Gauting for nearly 2 years and used to make day-trips to
the Lake and cross country skiing in the winter.
I imagine it would be beautiful in the spring. You can rent boats, etc.
Wonderful cafes along the shore are also to be found.
