Subject: Re: Ko Samui Island suggestions?

If I'm not mistaken, it is called the An Thong (sp?) Marine National Park. It is really beautiful and there are regular tours that depart from the main pier at Ko Samui. When we were there in 1993, we stayed at the Baan Taling Ngam Resort (the a Mandarin Oriental, and now a Le Meridien) and it was really good. The hotel had their own speedboat and we did the trip privately. It was good because we got to see a whole bunch of islands, most of them had really beaches, at our own pace and stopped as and when we wanted to snorkel, or have lunch (packed, of course).

I guess if you were looking for hotels that are family friendly, you might want to look at the Chaweng Beach area as there is where most of the hotels are and the beach is nice, though crowded.

Hope this helps..... Edmund in Singapore
