Graziella, We have stayed in Geneva.
The main train station is across the Rhone River from the old part of Geneva which we loved. You can walk this distance (and we did), but a taxi would be better. You would only need one taxi--from the train station to your hotel and then one the way back. The train gets to the airport in a VERY short time. You could probbly use a taxi directly from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. We stayed at the Touring Balance Hotel which was very well located, but our room was very dark and faced the inside courtyard, of sorts,of the hotel. Our friends had a street side room and it was hot and noisy, but very bright. I don't know which was worse as we could hardly see to read. The bathroom was a beauty, though. Hope Sally can come up with a hotel for you. The one we read about and sounded interesting was the Hotel Le Chandeliere, 23 Grand'Rue, a 14th Century Inn located on a cobblestone street that is closed to traffic every night. We are sorry that we did not even look at it when we were there. It is also well located. No help for you on Zurich as we have never stayed there, only at the airport, once. Gretchen |
