Leonardo, I think my students did not want to eat rabbit because of the
image of the cute little Easter bunny or the image of their beloved Peter
Rabbit books + as has been pointed out, many people just do not want to
eat that which is unusual to them and not part of their experience. For
most of my students here in the mid-Atlantic region, rabbit is not a part
of their families' normal everyday diet; thus they approach it with trepidation.
I remember that on early trips, many many years ago, before quiche became
an everyday thing here, students looked at quiche served in Europe with
suspicion! These sorts of attitudes were part of the reason I started
taking students around the world--to broaden their horizons a bit. Cheers,
Pat in Baltimore
