Subject: Mushy peas
Wondering just what mushy peas were, I asked several English friends and got this description:

They are kind of like soft lima beans but with more of a pea taste than a lima taste. They are squashed, not whole and rounded, with a smooth but slighty lumpy texture, sometimes served with their own juice. They look rather unappetizing, often a greeny-yellow color and smell a little like boiled cabbage. After this description, they all went on to say that they truly did LIKE them! Pat in Baltimore
