Subject: Re: Cell phones and calls to and from Europe |
Pat,
A cell or mobile phone can be called from any normal phone system. Cell phones work off either a digital or analog system, which is where the incompatibility comes in. For instance, with my digital cell phone I can take it and use it in the UK, but cannot use it in the States, as the States uses the analog system. When I go to the States therefore, I have to hire an analog cell phone over there, so that I can make and receive calls. So if you bring your analog cell phone from the States to Australia, you won't be able to use it with our digital network.. Louise in Sydney |
