RE: Cinque Terra,
We were there this past Sept and stayed in Vernazza at Trattoria
Gianni, fax : 001-39-0187-812-228. It's a great place, lots of small
rooms all over the place! We hiked from Vernazza to Riomaggiore and
took the train back. It was uphill some, but not too hard and I have
bad knees. You will meet lots of people, just strike up a
conversation when you see someone stopped to rest and you can go with
them or not. There were lots of people on the trail and it's fun to
see the towns and do some looking around and have a soda on the
church steps or at a cafe. Take water and your swim suit if it's warm
enough. Have fun and eat lots of pesto!!
