Subject: Re: Books by Travel Writers
Briefly . . . I really love Peter Mayle's books about Provence . . . A Year in Provence, Toujours Provence, etc. He really captures the essence of life in France, and underneath it all is that unmistakable British sense of humor. Also, Bill Bryson's book, Notes from a Small Island, is a very funny and entertaining account of his farewell tour through Britain as he prepares to return to the United States after living in England for 20 years. It will make you laugh out loud!
