Subject: Re: Paris Hotel |
Hi
Debbie here, just back from Paris. While there, we noticed some of the
hotels that we had considered staying in, and went in and had a look.
The Prince de Conti/Conde is part of the Libertel chain, and we thought it's Left Bank location was fabulous. Very close to the Seine, easy to walk everywhere. I have heard that this is a nice hotel. 1800USA Hotels books this for about 135USD. For about the same price, or a little more, the Hotel Buci Latin in the same neighborhood is very nice. Very hip and cool. I think the decor would impress and entertain a young teenager. Another good central location. We also stopped in at the famous Hotel Muguet, and we were pleasantly impressed by the manager. This location in the 7th isn't quite so central, but it was in a nice quiet area. Not far from Rick Steve's favorite, the Rue Cler. We liked the look of this place, and think we might stay there some time. Our hotel in the 4th, the Hotel de la Bretonnerie, was very much to our liking. The superior double that we had was 830FF, but there was no room for a third bed. But I am not sure if I would send my elderly parents, or a 14 year old boy to the Marais. The gay life on this street was fun for us to watch, and shop and eat in, but I don't know that everyone would feel the same way. We liked the Marais very much, but a liberal, arty, mindset may be required. Hope this helps. Debbie |
