|Subject: Traveling in Normandy|
I was in Normandy in Sept'99 and loved it. We made Bayeaux our base &
took day trips from there. It is a relatively small city &easy to get
around in so it makes a great base. William the Conqueror's Bayeaux
tapestry is there as well as a great cathedral. Rick Steve's guide book on
France &the Netherlands is a great help in planning your trip. The
Normandy landing beaches, the Peace museum in Caen, as well as Mont St.
Michel are great day trips. We stayed in a 400 yr old B &B that I think
hadn't been cleaned since it was built! But there are many B &B's in the
area &some good hotels in Bayeaux. . We took the train from Paris &then
picked up a car from the Hertz agency there.
