Subject: Hiking the South Island
We hike slowly, stopping to take many photos (I'm a photo nut) and to nibble and take in the scenery. Our trips took:

Routburn to Harris Saddle and return - about 7 hours w/ a long stop for lunch and many stops along the way.(Georgeous day)

Summit Mt. 2- 21/2 hrs RT - no picnic (too cold on top) Mt. Roy - about 3 1/2 hrs RT with a stop for a picnic

Avalanche Path/Scotts Path - about 7 - 8 hrs RT including lunch Gertrude's Saddle - 4 - 5 hrs. - many stops and picnic.

Hope this helps. Susie
