We like the Kensington area, east of Kensington High Street. It is just
a personal choice, but we like the idea of being in a busy and central
location, but out of the midst of the theater area craziness. We think
the area south of Kensington Gardens and stretching eastward is just right
for us. Plenty of access to all the parks, easy tube connections, shops,
restaurants, etc. Especially like being close to the major parks (other
than Regent's ) because we enjoy wandering in them.
Hope this helps Debbie PS. My message is based on our experience in finding decent budget accomodations in an area of London that we like. If someone else was paying the bill, I might go for a different spot. Tonier, I think.....
