Subject: Maps in Venice |
For those making their first trip to Venice, be aware that a map after
dark is virtually useless. There is not enough light from street lamps
etc. to be able to see it. If you must use one, take a small
flashlight.
However, if you are going to places like San Marco, Piazzale Roma, the Accademia, there are painted signs on the buildings that will get you where you need to go. Just walk until you see the next sign, even if it seems all wrong and can't possibly be right. If you're still confused, follow the people until you see another sign. And remember, you can't get too lost. You'd have to swim a long way to leave Venice on foot. Callie in New Orleans |
