I was in Vancouver and Victoria at the end of April, still
working on writing up my travelogue (stay tuned!). I stayed
mostl with relatives and treated myself to three nights in the
Crowne Plaza Hotel Georgia which is right downtown.
My photos are uploaded to Zing at http://www.zing.com/album/?id=4294451843
I loved Granville Island too and the Royal British Columbia museum in Victoria had me enthralled!!! Butchart Gardens was also lovely if you like flowers and gardens. It's amazing. Downtown Victoria is also lovely around the harbour with late 19th century buildings and since there is a height restriction there are no skyscrapers.
Vancouver: The seabus will take you from the Waterfront Skytrain station to North Vancouver and from there you can get a bus to Capilano (where the suspension bridge is) and Grouse Mountain to go up the skyride cable car to the ski chalet. Great views! I went to Lynn Canyon where there is a free suspension bridge, a bit smaller, but nerve wracking just the same! That's in North Vancouver as well.
Stanley park is lovely for walking. There are totem poles and a seafront and the Aquarium is quite nice too. Also worth a walk through are the Gastown and Chinatown areas of Vancouver and the Sun Yat-Sen gardens in Chinatown.
