Subject: Re: do it yourself arrangements
Hi Sandy I knew I wanted to go to Paris in the spring, so I waited until February to find a good deal. I had watched the prices the year before, and decided this was a good time to book. But prices actually went down for the next month or so. We were able to cancel our original flights (believe me, it took some work and anguish) and go on another airline for 200USD and 10,000 FF miles. This was TWA, and they have run this special for the last 2 or 3 years. The sale notice comes with the FF bulletin in March. But if you can't wait that long, I think you can book a good fare in mid to late February. We had no trouble at all getting the hotel we wanted. As long as you are planning to be in Paris before late April (watch out for Easter, don't know when it falls next year) you should be able to book your first choice very easily with about 4 weeks notice. I like to have more lead time, but that should be adequate. I'm not a risk taker, and like to have plans made in advance. I know that this sounds a bit prissy, but I take comfort in knowing where I'm going and where I'm staying. You may be more flexible; most people probably are! ;-)

April in Paris was a dream come true Debbie
