Subject: Re: SF Restaurants
It's Betelnut Restaurant on Union Street (sort of Cow Hollow/Lower Pacific Heights area), and it's Scoma's not Soma's on the Wharf (Soma refers to South of Market) - they also have one in Sausalito which is also good. As for a good Italian place in North Beach - well, I hate giving this one away :) - I enthusiaticaly recommend Michelangelo's on Columbus at Union. No reservations, cash only, get there early, can easily share plates. Another favorite place of ours is the Slanted Door (Vietnamese) in the Mission - unbelievably good but not inexpensive. If you take a drive (or a ferry ride) into Marin, go to Guaymus in Tiburon - great food (Mexican, but NO enchiladas or burritos) and ask for a table on the deck which overlooks Angel Island and SF.
