I have discovered that I get tired much faster and my back begins to hurt if i carry a shoulder purse while trying to walk all over a city. So I bought a raincoat that has zip pockets inside on both sides a long inside pocket for a fold-up umbrella and two deep pockets on outside that can be buttoned. SOmetimes this gets a bit heavy, but at least weight is divided over both sides of my body. Not good when it is hot and you have to carry coat over arm, so for next hot trip i bought a vest, with inside pockets and velcro closed pockets.
