|Subject: Lisbon to Faro|
We're just back from Portugal but didn't go to Faro so can't help
with the big question. I can tell you that it is easy to get from the
airport to downtown. Bus #91 stops right outside the door of the airport
and if you fly on TAP Air Portugal, you show your boarding pass and the
ride is free. Takes about 15-20 minutes to reach the area arounf
Restauradoes and Rossio train station. However, Rossio will not be the
station you need. (Also, going home we took a taxi from that area to the
airport and it cost about 2000$00 PTE (or $14 Canadian dollars).
To get to Faro I think you need to cross the Tagus and go to Barreiro Station, although I also read that the North -South railway line was to be extended and this would mean you would not have to go to Barreiro. I'm not sure if that has happened yet, because they are definitely still working on the line at Rossio station in Lisbon, hence it is closed all day each Sunday.
Have fun, and let me know if I can help with any questions re Lisbon etc. Collette Saunders Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
