I hope when you stayed there, you went next door to the Chiesa di Santa Maria Sopra Minerva - Andrea Bocelli did two PBS specials from there - Christmas and Easter. Throughout the shows, the camera kept showing Michelangeo's Risen Christ. Another very nice hotel in that area is the Albergo Del Senato - on the Piazza della Rotonda - we've not stayed their, but my oldest son did and enjoyed it. Immediately behind the Rotonda is another very pretty hotel - but I can't remember the name - the loss of brain cells in old age, is difficult. The book store you mention - it's near the Piazza del Popolo? I've been to a great one there, and I'm certain it's the same one.

Thanks to Leonardo, Roy, Wanda, etc for the info on how the star system works. I've never read the exact crieteria for the ratings, but I'm sure it would be interesting.
