|Subject: Chicago Hotel Reccomendation|
The three hotels that Sandy linked to you are not bad. They are all within walking distance of Wrigley, and in a nice neighborhood. Of the three, the City Suites on Belmont is probably the least desirable, the other two are on quieter side streets, within walking distance of the lake, neighborhood restaurants, and public transportation to the Loop (via bus or train.) The Majestic on West Brompton is on a lovely quiet street, but a little bit farther from the livelier stretches of on Broadway.
Another hotel I like in that area of town is the Best Western, Hawthorne Terrace.
3434 North Broadway, Chicago, Illinois, 60657 773-244-3434 Toll Free Reservations: 1-888-675-2378 Fax: 773-244-3435 http://www.hawthorneterrace.com/index.html
Their rates are in the $125 to $160 per night range, but some of the suites are large enough to accommodate a couple of cots, or will sleep children on a fold-out couch.
Although all of these hotels are in an area which is nice to walk around in, the area is essentially residential with a few commercial strips running through it. It is about 3 miles north of the Loop, with good transportation downtown, but you won't be in the center of things.
