I love Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon...but I am a tourist all the way through.
Yes, lots of other people enjoy Sedona and there are many tacky gifts shops
but what drew people into the area first of all was the beauty and then the
centered feeling that one gets. And I am not into New Age things, but
there is something there. Just ignore the shops and enjoy this incredible
I haven't been to Moab in years and can't remember anything outstanding, but as long as you are in the area, why not?
I don't know if you've booked air fare yet, and I don't know if it is still available but a cousin of min flew on Southwest from Baltimore to Vegas on a cheap ticket a couple weeks ago..think is was about $100. Then he and a friend drove the 41/2 hours to Williams where they stayed. They took the train trip in from William to the Grand Canyon and enjoyed it. Of course, they weren't staying and didn't plan to hike about.
