Iíve taken the Bateaux Mouche dinner cruise on the Seine and I agree
with others. The food is not worth the price and the evening cruise
seemed long as there is much less to see than there would be during the
day. Normandy D-Day Beaches are very inspiring and definitely worth a
visit. We loved Normandy and thereís much of interest to see there.
Honfleur is a lovely beautiful city and Mont St. Michel is amazing!
However all this does take time and cannot be done in a day for sure!
Even the day tours from Paris are full days for one destination. We did
rent a car and drive, but getting in and out of Paris is tricky and
frustrating and not worth it for only one day. If you can find a few
extra days, though, Normandy is terrific and then driving does make
sense. As far as Paris restaurants near the Arc de Triomphe, try Au
Violon díIngres in the 7th. We had a DELICIOUS dinner there last week,
very special for an anniversary, lovely and fairly reasonable for the
type of restaurant it is by Paris standards. I think we paid about $120
for a complete meal and wine. Their web site is:
