Sifnos: Wonderful island! We stayed in Chrysipiggi (sp?) -- renting an apt
w/ a terrace where we breakfasted and watched the goings on... it
overlooked the water and a tiny church which is the Church of the Patron
Saint of that island... It was terrific! We rented it from the Aegean
Travel Agency in Apollonia (also rented a car from them which we exchanged
for a jeep when we wanted to go to the other end of the island -- Heronesis!
The island has wonderful secluded beaches - fantastic food and wonderful
hiking. Very few tourists in the spring when we were there. We were told
that the Greeks vacation here in August.
Folegandros: We stayed in the Anemonilos apts in Folegandros which are fantastic! We had a corner room with two terraces overlooking the Aegean in one direction and the old Kastro in the other. -- A must! Cornelia is wonderful and will recommend places to eat in the Chora (pretty town/island center) This is a quiet island with no cars - wonderful beaches and a few places of interest. It remindes me of the Greece of the early 60's!!! http://www.greekhotel.com/cyclades/folegand/chora/anemomil/home.htm
Have a super time - we try to go to Greece every spring, but I hear September is marvelous, also!!! Susie Newton, MA
