|Subject: Canadian Rockhound|
An area that may be of interest to you is a place called The Ovens located
on the coast near Lunenburg. They are a series of sea caves which were
enlarged for gold extraction in the mid-19th century. As an interesting
aside the area is owned by the family of the late folk singer Harry Chapin.
I suppose this is more of a geological interest than specifically rockhounding. It is well worth the visit. Plus its proximity to Lunenburg (a wonderful small port) is another bonus.
