We will be living in a town called San Miguel de Allende. It is
about 200 miles northwest of Mexico City up in the mountains (high
desert plain). I don't know if you know it, but San Miguel is a
beautiful town, small with cobblestone roads. It is colorful and
interesting, with an artistic community and a cultured history. One
of the Mexican revolutions began a few miles away. There is a small
expatriate group, which is not that appealing except that it means
the infrastructure might be a little better than the usual. The
schools seem very good, which was an issue for us because of Elena
and Julien. They come from a Montessori background and there are
Montessori preschools and a Montessori-like primary school.
Mostly, it is an opportunity for Sarah and I to enjoy and participate
fully in our children's growing up. Later on, who knows?
