Subject: Winter destination
Dear Sandy My godson-in-law is from the beautiful colonial town of Ponce, Puerto Rico. It is not too Americanized, especially if one stays in the town, avoids the Mall (sigh). Ponce is very attractive and offers inexpensive dining and lodging. It is possible to take day trips to the hills, and to a very fascinating little beach island called Gilligan's Island where one must get directions from locals. This little island is divided by a Mangrove causeway that one can swim down. Just incredible. Museums and a University add to the charm of Ponce. I had a great time there. Debbie in Pittsburgh
