|Subject: Re: NYC during Christmas|
I stayed at a hotel a few years ago that I thought was pretty good. I was doing an event at Madison Square Garden so it was really convenient - right across the street. Maybe not my first choice, but it ended up being very nice. It's called the Southgate Tower Suite Hotel, and I think it used to be apartments or something. Each room has a separate bedroom with bath, and a living room/dining area/kitchen, with fridge, stove, microwave, dishes, etc. There was a list of groceries, and you could fill it out and leave it, and they would do a little grocery shopping for you, put it in the fridge and cupboards, and it just went on the hotel bill.
It's at 31st St, so it was really close to a lot of things, including Macy's which I think was right around the corner.
Here's a website I found http://www.boutiquehotels.com.au/pages/sthgate.html
Like I said, I was there a few years ago (February of 1997) so no guarantees but maybe you can check it out.
