Subject: Koper to Venice
Taking the bus from Koper to Trieste: service is frequent and cheap, it takes about half an hour and it takes you right in the center of town. The route is not really scenic, as it doesn't run along the sea, but that's all, unless you drive your own car and follow the local roads. From Trieste you have two options, bus or train. I'd suggest the train, hourly departures, fast and very scenic for the first half hour as the railway run high on the hills facing the gulf of Trieste. The rest is all countryside and small towns. The train takes you right to downtown Venice, wich is very useful. The bus service from Trieste to Venice takes more time than by train, as the road crosses a lot of towns and the traffic is slow, the landscape is of course the same. BTW I've read the boat service from Koper to Venice usually runs on summer only. The name of the agency running it is Kompas (the main Slovenian tour operator) so maybe you can try to find some informations on the web with a search engine.
