|Subject: Re: Attractions in Los Angeles|
I have stayed at the Renaissance and its a nice hotel. There is a neat
place in Playa Del Rey called The Shack and it is a great place for burgers.
Its on Culver Blvd, very near to LAX.
I bet the Renaissance has a shuttle to the metrorail terminal at Aviation
Blvd and from there you can go so many places--from Universal to Long
beach and its a fun way to traverse my city! As you can tell--I am big
on it these days :)
The Getty is always a great place--there is currently a Peter Paul Rubens
Exhibit going on. You can arrive on Thursday or Friday after 4 PM without
a reservation these days and both days the Getty is open until 9 PM. The
Getty is free, parking is $5.
If you are a hiker, you can go visit the Bat Caves (from Batman TV) up
in Bronson Canyon, which is in Griffith Park ( write me for specific directions
if you wish). Its about a 3 mile round trip. There are many things to
do in Griffith Park--Fern Dell, Barnsdall park, the Hollyhock house and
more. Also on the Metro Red line :)
There are two new Trolley tours of Beverly Hills, both taking about an
hour . One is a Sites and Scenes Tour, the other is an Art and Architecture
Tour. For more info contact: 310.285.2438
I could go on and on, what are you into?
