Subject: Lake Como |
Bellagio is the most convenient place to visit all the area, as it's linked
with car and passenger ferries to both shores, thus saving a lot of driving
time. Lodging is usually expensive at the lakeshore hotels, but there are
inland ones and I've seen some room rental advertising. I guess you are
aware mid-October in northern Italy usually means fog, but if you get some
sun the lake area is wonderful.
The most interesting part of the lake is the Bellagio peninsula, the
western shore with its famous villas and the eastern part over Lecco. The
north is somewhat less interesting.
