Subject: Re: Sumatra, Bali, Thailand - looking for recommendations
If you go to Sumatra I've heard that the Orangatang Reserve is facinating. Becareful in Jakarta.

Bali is beautiful once you are out of Kuta and Legion area. The black beaches in the north out side of Singharaja, in Kailibukbuk and Lovina are beautiful. Tana Lot Temple is a must. Ubud is artsy and the monkey forest is nice. Don't pay to go in it actually is free. there use to be traditional dancing in Pelitan.

Do you need recommedations for places to stay while in Bkk? Let me know.

Must sees are the Grand Palace (be sure to dress properly), Wat Arun, Wat Po, take a water taxi on The Chaya Phrao River, Jim Thompson House (architecturally interesting, if you get up early enough and are interested the floating market in Dameonak Suduak (2 hours form BKK) is great but youmust be there very very early, the market if finished my 9-10 am.

I lived in the North of Thailand and would be happy to give you info. Do have any idea if you will go north or south? Or where you are interested and what you are interested in seeing.
