If the train is designated Inter City, Euro City, or Eurostar, a
supplement is payable. It costs no more to pay the supplement on the
train--not so if you need to buy the whole ticket. If the ticket you
bought is like one sold in Italy, if it says something like Tariffa
IC it includes the supplement. I bought a kilometric ticket and made
reservations for my sister and her friend on our trip to Italy at the same
time, so I thought all charges were covered, but they needed to pay the
supplement.
