Subject: The Grand Wailea Resort - Maui |
We just returned from 10 days at the Grand Wailea Resort in Maui - it
was more beautiful than
anticipated - but very, very expensive. If you go to Maui, a good way
to see the resort and
sample the spa is through a day trip. There is $30 million of artwork
on display and $20 million
in grounds display - all open to the public. The lobby is immense and
here is where you will find
most of the sculpture displays.
The formal Hibiscus Pool gets its name from the giant hibiscus flower made of over 630,000 individual glass tiles. There are also a series of five pools connected by slides - try it - it is a blast! The spa is outstanding and open to the public for day treatments - it is like spending the day at the Golden Door and is appealing to both men and women. Maui has changed a lot over the years we have been going - much, much more congested. The snorkling trips are packed - even in the off season! Although we loved the resort, we will choose another island for out next trip. Good to be back, Donna |
