Subject: recommendations for Paris needed...

We stayed at the Hotel Muguet, not too far from Invalides and the military school. It was a very nice hotel, rooms were comfortable and very clean. The staff was very helpful; and our room rate was about $130 (CDN) which is around $85 US with the current exchange rates.

As for places to see, Elaine's post is a great start. We didn't make it to Giverny to Monet's house, but instead went to the Marmotan Museum which features the overwhelming majority of his works. It's in the west end of the city and is a private collection, so won't be covered by your museum pass..which by the way is a must have. If you like sculpture, then the Rodin Museum is a must see as well.

When at Notre Dame, take the time to climb the bell Towers and see the Gargoyles up close, as well as a great view of the city. Be sure to stroll the Champs Elysees, and take in the Arc de Triomphe as well. If it's something you enjoy, you could look at buying tickets to a performance at the Opera House, (just be careful, since Paris has two Opera houses. The old (a la Phantom of the Opera) and the New Opera house out near Place de la Bastille.

Have a great trip.......
