We would have to agree with debkurt about London at Christmas. Both
Christmas and the day after are a wasteland in the city. Not only will you
find a almost total lack of entertainment and prepared food, but even the
taxi cabs are allowed to charge double or tripple their normal rates. You
will probably find that hotels have specials for the holiday period,
because there is nothing to do in the city - all the legitimate theaters,
shows, museums and public events are cancelled. On the other hand, it's
wonderful to find a country that places such a premium on families to
