Sandy in LA
Romantik Hotel Strasbourg: Hotel Beaucour , 5 rue des Bouchers 67000 Strasbourg. 33-0/388-767200; fax 33 (0)/ 388-767260.- Road - take d392 north-east into Strasbourg, hotel is right in the town centre near the Cathedral. Bath tub, Wc, shower, Air conditioning, Computer data port, Fax machine available. Lift/elevator, Parking facilities, Restaurant. The hotel is steeped in history. Situated on the Banks of the Ill in the citys historic downtown District one discovers it behind a 17th century Portal. The rooms and suites are distributed throughout a tiny village of half timbered houses With a real inner court. Rooms have jacuzzi bathtubs, and wonderfully decorated rooms. Doubles: $130 Highly recommend as a unique Strasbourg/Alsace experience. Au Pont Corbeau, 21 Quai St. Nicolas; 03/8835-6068. A very popular restaurant with both locals and tourists. Very cozy with wood beamed ceilings and painted panels, wood paneled walls, wooden tables all snuggled close together so it is easy to talk to your neighbor. Get there between 7 and 7:30 to avoid a wait. Try their Confiture au porc (pig's cheeks!) Very tender and delicious. Served over saurkraut with fresh vegetables. Their house wine, a red, light pinot noir is also wonderful. Dinners around 18 including the wine and dessert. |
